Chelsea's patient listening, and empathy for others has led her into the role of Counsellor, which she has been pursuing since 2007. Backed by her years of education and involvement in various volunteer and professional endeavours locally and internationally, Chelsea counts it as a privilege to walk alongside her clients throughout life's challenges. Compassionate by nature and by choice, Chelsea pays special attention to creating an atmosphere where her clients feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. Firmly convinced that problems are separate from a client’s identity, Chelsea holds space for her clients to do the work of healing. She favours a non-judgmental, eclectic, and mindfulness-based approach which allows interventions that encourage client awareness and support hope for a different future. In so doing, she aims to equip her clients with the confidence and assuredness to make decisions and changes that will improve their overall well-being.
Her passion for learning drives Chelsea to continually further her education through attending workshops and seminars to better assist her clients in difficult matters such as anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation, violence in intimate partnership, and unhelpful or painful family dynamics. In the near future, Chelsea plans to pursue further professional certification in Play Therapy. She is eager to share from her knowledge and experience with those clients she is privileged to see.
Fun fact: In her spare time, Chelsea practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, weight lifting, target shooting, and enjoys leisurely bike rides around Kelowna with her husband.
