Chrissi’s genuine desire to help people is evident from the first time you meet her. She has a natural skill of wanting to assist those around her and brings a positive energy to any environment. Chrissi’s journey into counselling started in 2008 as a recreation therapist where she worked with youth who had acquired brain injuries, autism and/or ADHD. Chrissi also spent the last 14 years in the field of disability management where she led and supported a team of case managers. During the 14 years she felt something else was out there for her. After the birth of her first child, Chrissi, at the age of 32 decided to pursue this feeling and returned to school, while working a full-time job and raising her son alongside her very supportive husband.
Chrissi completed her practicum placement at William & Associates and chose to join the practice as an Associate. As a counsellor she has had the pleasure of working and assisting a variety of clients work through their concerns and issues. These concerns include trauma; physical, verbal, sexual and psychological, grief, addictions, acquired brain injuries, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety.
One of Chrissi’s strengths as a counsellor is her ability to help a client sort through what feels like a lot of noise to see exactly where they want to focus. She supports her clients this way, by being patient and allowing clients to go at their own pace during the counselling process. While also navigating the journey for the client with guidance, direction and empathy.
Fun fact: Chrissi has 2 kids and a beautiful husband. They moved to BC from Toronto in 2019 so that Chrissi could continue her counselling journey. On weekends you can find them outside enjoying all that the outdoors of BC has to offer, particularly biking, skiing, hiking and camping.
