David Van Trump, RPC-C
David is compassionate and lives with an open posture for learning more about who he is. David has learned to value empathy, sympathy, and emotional connectedness and brings what he has learned into his profession. Whether a client is dealing with depression, anxiety, addictions, or living with another difficulty, David focuses on the strengths and commonalities created within all of us. His patient stance and listening ear make others feel at ease while navigating the challenging and complex aspects of life. Believing that only the client can turn the key to their breakthroughs he focuses on building an atmosphere in which the client feels supported, accepted, and understood. As a result of the process, clients are provided the opportunity to become empowered again to reclaim their lives and relationships.
David graduated with a diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling and is registered in the province of British Columbia by the Canadian Professional Counselling Association as a Registered Professional Counsellor - Candidate.
When David is not counselling he enjoys going to the gym, playing tennis, and soaking up the sunshine or the words in a good book … (even better when combined together). David also loves traveling, road trips, and is looking forward to the next adventure.
Fun Fact: A recent discovery of his love for fixing things has led him to discover the joys of ‘Do It Yourself’ projects. He recently replaced the turbocharger, and lower control arms on his car with the guidance of YouTube videos and the support of his mechanically gifted neighbor.
