Each person’s grief is unique. While you may share some commonalities in your experiences, no one will ever grieve like you do but the shared experience gently bears witness to the process of reconciling the reality of learning to live without the presence of a loved one. It is no longer ‘just me’ but rather ‘we.’ It is this revelation which pushes you to connect, support and find a new compassion you never knew existed.

Love Stronger Program - Next Start Date:

Spring 2020

Many couples, for a variety of reasons, don't know how to be open or transparent, and find intimate communication difficult. 
The Love Stronger Group offers men and women the opportunity to learn how to be a good, intimate, partner and provides the support of the group process in identifying unhelpful thinking habits and in developing new skills and perspectives. 
You will learn how to :

  • Be less defensive

  • Be aware of your partner's needs as well as your own

  • Engage & be present

  • Actively listen

  • Assert yourself

  • Set boundaries

  • Encourage true intimacy

  • Repair relationship ruptures

  • Fight Fair

Dates: Spring 2020

H.E.a.R.T Program - Next Start Date:

21 April - 19 May 2020

Trauma can take form in a number of different ways. For those who have experienced trauma within a relationship the H.E.a.R.T group is for you. Facilitated by Carol Loney & Andrea La. Through this 5 week journey you will learn to:

  • Identify Trauma in your life 

  • Understand the relationship you have with yourself

  • Identify how you got to where you are now

  • Create a personal genogram

  • Identify your emotional responses to various situations 

  • Find healing

  • Plan for a more positive future

Shades of Anxiety - Next Start Date:

5 March - 9 April 2020

A warm, safe place to connect and share your experiences with anxiety as we journey to understand how anxiety affects us. During the group we will define what anxiety is, explore some roots for it, and teach each other along the way. Facilitated by Dr.Susannah-Joy Schuilenberg and David Van Trump.
You will learn:

  • Tools to use for healthy thinking 

  • Review how thoughts, behaviours and feelings impact anxiety

  • How trauma impacts anxiety

  • How repressed emotions come into play

Breaking "The Blues" - Next Start Date:

The holiday season can be a particularly difficult time for those suffering with depression. For those who are struggling Breaking Blue is a 4 week ONLINE course designed to help. Facilitated by Carol Loney & Chrissi Stronach.
You will learn to:

  • Identify symptoms and moods related to mild-moderate depression

  • Review how a person's thoughts, behaviours and feelings can impact depression

  • Learn specific tools and strategies to help (CBT techniques, goals, mood scales and more)

Men's Sexual and Relationship Recovery -

Facing the Shadow is a 12 week course designed to help participants create a revitalized, interpersonal network of family, friends, and recovery support.  

You will learn to:

  • Break free from denial

  • Make sense of your own sexual history

  • Understand your behaviours (chaos)

  • Face the unmanageability

  • Access resources and support

  • Take the mystery out of arousal and your behaviour

  • Learn fundamentals of recovery

  • Avoid relapse

STOP Program - Next start date: 

22 April - 24 June 2020

A free, voluntary participation therapeutic group for men who struggle with destructive power and control dynamics in their relationships.

 

10 weeks long, this group therapy program helps men to identify the underlying belief system(s) that create the maladaptive reactions, and offers new skills, opportunity to practice, and support in changing thought patterns destructive to intimacy and true, relational connection.

Facilitated by Bill and Susannah-Joy, together they bring extensive specialized training, compassion, and the personal experience of nearly 40 years of marriage to the process of helping men recover the opportunity to form healthy, intimate relationships.
