Therapy is for Everyone
Your mental health influences your daily life in every way. The emotional stress and unrest that comes from trauma, depression & anxiety, addiction or crisis of any kind takes a very heavy toll on your mental well-being.
At William & Associates, we believe that therapy is for everyone. When life hurts, we can help.

We are proud to facilitate an Internship Program through which we are able to offer low-fee therapy options so that everyone has access to mental health. This is how we change the world. One session at a time.
Grief & Loss Counselling
"No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear"
- C.S Lewis
Everyone experiences and processes grief differently for a variety of reasons including family background, life experiences, intrinsic beliefs and personal values.
In grief counselling our purpose is to help guide you through the complex sea of emotional, social, cognitive and physical responses to the pain and suffering that comes from a major loss in life.
If you have experienced loss and you are ready to heal, please contact us to see how one of our counsellors can help you reclaim your life and empower yourself to live well.

Depression & Anxiety
"Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step."
- Mariska Hargitay
Depression and anxiety are the most common reasons why individuals seek out a therapist. These two mental health issues impact everything about life, including relationships, job performance, and overall quality of life.

Characterized as mild, moderate, or severe, anxiety and depression are treatable. One may experience either separately or both at the same time. We know from research that not seeking treatment increases the probability of subsequent, and more serious episodes.
Sex Addiction & Intimacy Disorders
Addiction is the only prison where the locks are on the inside.
Problematic sexual behaviours wreck lives. Therapy offers the opportunity for recovery, and something better in relationship. Bill helps his clients learn to live with transparency and integrity, and Susannah-Joy supports healing for partners impacted by these behaviours.

Bill helps his clients to conquer the negative internal landscape that manifests in acting out and destroys intimacy. Susannah-Joy brings an understanding of the impact of trauma on the development of Self and support for the betrayed partner. Together they provide the expertise and support needed for individuals and couples looking for help and hope

Trauma Recovery
"Trauma creates change you don't choose.
Healing is about creating change you do choose."
- Michele Rosenthal
Trauma is an overwhelming stress response to an abnormal event or experience. When that response is not processed effectively by the psyche, the resulting consequences impact all areas of the Self. This systems-wide impact includes cognitive, emotional, and physical symptoms.

When trauma is long term, such as happens in childhood; is common to the theatre of war; or includes multiple events, the subsequent degree of dysfunction has the potential to destroy quality of life and often relationships with it.
Mediation & Reconciliation
"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity."
- Albert Einstein
Bill helps clients with conflict management, supporting boundaries, recovery, and disclosure preparation while supporting a couples' strengths. Validating and knowledgeable, he skillfully holds space for the experience of recovery and rebuilding for both partners, and offers non-judgmental, compassionate, and experienced interventions for mediating and resolving the issues which have the potential to permanently fracture a relationship.

Couples Crisis Management
"Nothing is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex.
Outcomes are uncertain. People are irrational."
- Pietro Aretino
When crisis ~ of any flavour ~ threatens the stability and health of a relationship, the best thing a couple can do is ask for help. Instead of waiting until the crisis has fractured trust and intimacy beyond repair, seek support and skilled management to navigate the stress and distress present in such crises.
Group Therapy
"Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation."
- Oscar Wilde
Some of the most comforting words in the universe to hear are "me too." That moment when you find out that your struggle is also someone else's struggle, that you are not alone and that others have been down the same road...is incredibly powerful and effectively contributes to your overall mental health.

We facilitate a number of different therapy groups, including:
STOP - Intimate partner violence prevention program in partnership with the John Howard Society
Braveheart - Men's sex addiction recovery
H.E.a.R.T. - Women's emotional healing after trauma
WeFusion - Couple's relationship bootcamp

Supervision & Skill Development
"It is so essential to surround yourself with others who are ALREADY where you want to be. Iron sharpens iron."
William & Associates offers master classes, workshops, and skills practice on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Supervision for skills development, accountability, and governance in counselling, psychotherapy, and other mental health disciplines is critical component of competent clinical practice. Supervision is a not replacement for self-guided retrospective inspection, but instead adds to this personal discipline, incorporating external evaluation of the skills of practitioners.
